Claire Wilson, a Graphic Designer and horse rider, has found a way to combine her passion for horses and design to produce a wonderful book, the Rider’s Diary.
Launched in 2006 the ‘Rider’s Diary’ is a log book to record horse’ health, riding lessons; training; feed; hoof care; veterinary records and competitions for Dressage, Jumping, Horse Trials and Showing.
The first print edition was a bound hardcover book. And although was very popular, many riders using the book as a training tool asked for the pages to be tailored to their riding discipline.
In 2010 the hardcover design changed to a 2 ring Competition Binder with divider tabs, plastic pockets and refill packets available in 26 designs including Horsemanship, Western, Mounted Games and more.
The launch of the Competition Binder worked well with the rise of Facebook and soon the journey began with Claire’s daughter Ava having a pony of her own and keeping a Riders Diary for herself. Ava is now riding her 4th pony and is loving the riding fun and recording their journey. Ava is featured on the cover of the 2018 Riders Diary.
